I have quite a stash of scrapbooking supplies, but I've realized lately that it is much better to invest in those type of supplies you can use again & again. So here are the 5 products I am currently craving & you'll see why!!

A silhouette cameo is extremely expensive, but it definitely looks worth it. This die-cutting machine can do pretty much everything you can think of! One blog I constantly seen it used on is Wilna's where nearly all her projects feature something cut with the silhouette. It seems that with this product you can make amazing looking pages with nothing except patterned paper & this machine!

I've been watching these for awhile, but once again they are on the pricey side. These amazing markers allow you to blend the colors while drawing to create the most gorgeous art!

Recently, I've been really into using stencils/masks with paint and/or mists to create all sorts of backgrounds both for scrapbooking pages & for my art journal. One place I really seem to get a lot of inspiration for using stencils is on Balzer Designs, not only does she use them, but she has her own line which are pretty amazing!

Washi tape has been a new obsession in the scrapbooking world & I am definitely jumping on board with this one! Unfortunately, I only own 4 rolls of the stuff...I've seen some people's collections that are amazing. I'm constantly looking for sales to get some more of this stuff, it is just so versatile & makes pages look so great!!

Last, but not least, I've really been loving stamps. I have actually started to grow my collection quite a bit. I had lots of the clear acrylic stamps & was collecting those, but lately I've been purchasing some of the old rubber/wood ones, mainly from the Paper Source. They just put a store in Soho also so now I am probably going to go there a lot more...

Loveeeeeeeee all of these!! Have you checked into Spectrum Noir markers?? Two of my friends work for them... (one of them actually used to work for Copic) ... and they LOVE them!! And they are like 1/3 the price as Copics!
ReplyDeleteI love my Cricut {it's similar to a silhouette} and my washi tape collection is growing! Mindy Mays Market {mindymaysmarket.com} normally has great deals! on washi tape!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm craving everything - lol! I went through a phase where I wanted Copics SO badly but then decided they were too expensive for me right now so I bought Prismacolor pencils instead and those work great! I use baby oil to blend them and it works perfectly, especially when coloring digital stamps. They can be on the expensive side, too, but are definitely cheaper than Copics.

Oh! And I forgot to mention stamps... lol. I'm not sure if they have Michael's craft store in New York or if there's one near you, but the Michael's near me has a $1 cardmaking bin with rubber/wood stamps, glitter glue, clear stamps, and a few other things that I can't remember off the top of my head. I don't have many wood stamps either because of how expensive they can be... but for a dollar?! I can't pass that up. :) They actually rang up at 60 cents each this week and I have no idea why, but I definitely went back and grabbed a few more since they were basically free! If you're ever near a Michael's you should stop in and see if they have the $1 bin. :)

Well you've got great taste! I have no interest in another electronic die cutter... ever. But the silhouette cameo looks kind of cool. However the other 4 items you can't go wrong with. I'm a big fan of them all!
ReplyDeleteI too am craving....coveting....want...drooling over the silhouette! Craftaholics Anonymous sometimes has a giveaway that includes the silhouette and I've been entering every time...no luck yet...:[ I REALLY want one! Check out her website..she uses it to make all kinds of fun stuff.
ReplyDeleteMostly I'm just craving more time to be able to play with all the scrapping stuff I bought recently...
ReplyDeletei love washi tape, there are so many uses
ReplyDeleteif you head to michaels they have had some great stamps for a $1 lately
Great list! i'm thinking about starting up a "favorite things" blog where we bring attention to items that have caught our eye, or items on our wish list, etc.
ReplyDeleteOh, you're making me want to go back to scrapbooking bad!
Ugh I want a Silhouette SOOOOOO badly, too! I will check out that blog to see what other projects she does with the Silhouette.
