Tons of fun stuff to share!

It's Friday & I have tons to share!

First thing, I got this in the mail yesterday evening:

It's my order from www.scrapbook.com! I got: souffle pens, fabric flowers garden mix from Bitty Blossoms, two packs of clear stamps: one from Jillibean Soup "discover words" & one from Kaiser Crafts "love words", two large flair badges from American Crafts, fabric flower embellishments from Bloomers, Webster's Pages' fabric tickets "yacht club", Webster's Pages' vintage inspired netting, Echo Park 6x6 "a walk in the park" paper pack, K & Company "cintronella" 4.75x6.75 paper pack, Bazzill Basics "warm" burlap, K & Company 12x12 "Color Basics" & DCWV 12x12 "The Pocket Full of Posies Stack".

I'm so excited! I have so many ideas for new projects with my new supplies!! It is a pain not being near a scrapbooking store where I can go pick up things whenever inspiration strikes...but when you get the order in the mail after waiting & waiting... it's so exciting!

Now, of course you know I like to participate in scrapbooking contests. They are a great way for me to get feedback on my work & meet new people! So I stumbled across scrapbookers anonymous and I just had to participate!

Their current challenge is to find your hard to use color & use it! So I started looking through my stack of papers & embellishments and came across these two embellishment sets that I have had sitting around FOREVER & I never realized they went together before!

I was instantly inspired! I decided to use a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays and I made this layout:

Here is the sketch:

Once I had the sketch from Sketchy Thursdays & the color inspiration from scrapbookers anonymous the layout just came together perfectly! I even made it fit with the themes for Scrap the Boys & DYSU! I was so excited how perfectly it fit together.

I've never participated in a challenge for Scrap the Boys before, so I was really excited when I realized my subject was a boy & one of my inspiration elements was fabric tape, which was half of their current theme! Using the word "Play" in my title [the rest of their theme] helped me decide what to write. The layout is simply about my boyfriend & how I feel about him now. Most of the text is lyrics to one of our songs, "Then" by Brad Paisley. It's an absolutely amazing song! Lastly, I had butterfly embellishments that coordinated with my page, so I added those on there for DYSU, even though it's a boy layout... I think it works! Tell me what you think :)

Here are some closer looks:

After I made my page, you think I would stop there. But I was so inspired by the color scheme I had and I had so many scraps [and my inspiration embellishment pad still had many unused stickers] I decided to make some more embellishments!

These matched my layout, I guess I will be doing another layout soon with the same color scheme:

Then I chose some different scraps I had piling up:

And lastly, I made this ribbon flower:

I haven't ever sat down and just made embellishments without a plan before, it was tons of fun & I love the way they came out! I would really appreciate your feedback!!

I got the ideas for the flowers from Bo Bunny for the ribbon flower & for the star flowers from Ideas 4 scraps. Thanks for all the inspiration! I hope you're inspired too.
